This Privacy Policy describes how LeMethodic ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our service at lemethodic.com (the "Service").

1. Who We Are

LeMethodic is operated by Chadi Bakhay as a solo individual, based in Morocco. For privacy-related questions, contact us at admin@lemethodic.com.

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed, never stored in plaintext) when you create an account.
• Self-reported language level: Your current French level, target level, motivation, exam date, and other answers to our onboarding questionnaire.
• Payment information: Processed entirely by LemonSqueezy (our payment processor). We never see or store your card details. We receive only transaction confirmations and subscription status.
• Audio recordings: Voice recordings you submit during Tâche (speaking practice) sessions, stored to enable analysis and progress tracking.
• Communications: Any messages you send us via email or support channels.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent in the Service, recording counts, and similar engagement metrics.
• Device information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers (limited to what's needed for the Service to function).
• Cookies and similar technologies: Session cookies for authentication; we do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

• LemonSqueezy: Subscription and payment status, payout details for accounting.
• OpenAI / Anthropic: When you use our AI examiner or analysis features, your audio transcriptions and text submissions are sent to these providers for processing. They do not train their models on your data per their respective enterprise terms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the Service: enable account access, deliver lessons, run diagnostics, generate feedback.
• Improve the Service: understand which features work, identify bugs, refine our methodology.
• Communicate with you: send transactional emails (account confirmations, payment receipts, exam reminders if you opt in).
• Comply with legal obligations: respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, payment processing, AI analysis). These providers are bound by confidentiality and process data only on our instructions.
• Legal authorities when required by law (e.g., court order, subpoena).
• A successor entity if LeMethodic is acquired or merged. You will be notified before your data is transferred.

LeMethodic is operated from Morocco. Our service providers may process your data in the United States, the European Union, or other regions. By using the Service, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account:

• Account data (name, email, hashed password) is deleted within 30 days.
• Audio recordings are deleted within 30 days.
• Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
• Payment records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically 5-10 years).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

LeMethodic is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at admin@lemethodic.com.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive data, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice in the Service at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
